Autumn Leaves are Falling!

I know why fall is my favorite time of year. A local church bulletin board says it all – Look! God is painting the mountains. Vibrant reds, yellows and oranges dapple the mountains and the trees below. We live in a kaleidoscope of color. No one wants to walk with me because I am constantly scanning the trees (and the ground) for new leaves for my leaf creations. It’s like I can’t NOT pick them up!

Since I love birds, my mom suggested the other day that I try making some cardinals and she showed me a sample of what she was talking about. I took it and RAN with it. Here’s the result:

Mr. Cardinal is made entirely from leaves. Isn’t he adorable? I made several in different frames and am having fun playing around with them.

Along with my cardinals, I took some of the leaf peeps, owls and other birds to a local craft shop. Ms. Terica loves them! She purchased several and they’re now on display (TO BUY) at CAM Cabin Crafts on Wears Valley Road in Townsend, Tennessee!

I’m working on some more for (probably) my last show for 2012 that will be held on Nov. 3. More details when that is finalized.

Let me know what you think of Mr. Cardinal – I’d love to hear from you!
